1Šibenik is enchanting city with two UNESCO protected monuments – the Cathedral of St. James and St. Nicolas´ fortress.
The fortress is made out of big stone blocks on the rock, surrounded by the sea at the entrance to the Šibenik ´s channel.
There are also 2 national parks, Krka waterfalls and Kornati islands, which make Šibenik almost unique in the world.
There are also three fortresses – St. Michael´s, The Šubićevac Fortress and St. John´s in the city of Šibenik.
2When we arrive to Šibenik, the first impression will be the imposing St. James Cathedral, built in the 15th and 16th century of white stone blocks without using any other building material to support it.
Certainly, the most interesting part of the Cathedral are portraits (heads) of 71 people surrounding outdoors walls. Each of the heads is different and expressing individual feeling. In 2000 the Cathedral was added to the UNESCO Cultural World Heritage List. The cathedral and the nearby Renaissance town hall represent one of Croatia´s Heritage most beautiful square.
Seventy meters above the sea level, in the very city center, lays St. Michael’s Fortress. It was built on a steep, rocky hill with the stunning view to the numerous islands and the medieval town.
3After exploring city treasures, we take you on family agritourism where you can enjoy the ambience of old renovated stone cottages and taste authentic dishes.
Outstanding ambiance full of ancient cooking and farming exhibits will occupy your imagination while dishes are prepared in traditional way.
You can choose between meat or veggie goulashes or peka – it is traditional method of making meals, usually made of veal.
Peka can contain chicken or octopuses’ meat, with potatoes, vegetables and different herb spices.
Ingredient are put in a closed lid pot and the dome is covered by ember and fire where it slowly cooks for 2 hours.
Take a glass of famed Babić wine, traditional for the area.
