1Explore the oldest and the biggest national park in Croatia.
With its exceptional natural beauty, this area has always attracted nature lovers and in 1949 it was proclaimed Croatia’s first national park. Because of its outstanding universal value, even UNESCO recognized it and since 1979 the lakes are protected as a World Natural Heritage.
2After a short introduction by our guide, you will have 4 hours of free time.
The harmony of 16 beautiful lakes, more than 90 waterfalls, narrow bridges, lookouts with astonishing landscapes, fascinating nature in each season etc. are just some of the details which will take your breath away.
3The lake system has been divided into the upper and lower lakes.
It is comprised of 16 named and several smaller unnamed lakes, cascading one into the next.
Larger lakes and countless smaller lakes are separated by tufa barriers, but they are also connected in this unique water system via a series of waterfalls between the lakes.
At the end of the lower lakes, there is the most impressive 78-meter-high waterfall called Veliki Slap or Plitvice Waterfall. There is also a 30-minute boat ride over the biggest emerald green and blue lake called Kozjak.
