Short description

During your stay in Trogir or Dalmatia, enjoy another trip outside the borders and explore some special places in Bosnia and Hercegovina, such as Međugorje, the place where in 1981 six children saw an apparition of the Virgin Mary. The stories of these children make Međugorje a well-known and popular place for Catholic pilgrimage around the world. Another city which you have to discover is Mostar with its stunning bridge, built by the Ottomans in the 16th century. It is one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s most visited landmarks.

Let us make your day special and find out more…

 Itinerary

Important information: Valid passport or EU ID necessary

A private tour means that everything can be customized to your needs and desires. The advantage of a private tour is your own minivan, your own driver, your own excursion… no timetable, no hurry… just a day with plenty of miraculous things to feel, explore and to bear with you… Tell us about your desires, your favorite occupation, your expectations… or just indulge our intuition – we will make it perfect. One of our ideas is as follows:

7:00 Departure from Trogir/Split

9:30 – 10:30 Coffee break and visiting Počitelj

Pocitelj open air museum

1Our first stop will be an open-air museum, Počitelj, an ancient town surrounded by walls.

It is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Bosnia due to preserved ensembles within the city walls and the oriental atmosphere.

The village is part of the UNESCO Tentative List for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

11:00 – 12:00 Mostar sightseeing with a guide

2The next location we will explore is Mostar, the city under UNESCO protection.

Mostar is located on the river Neretva and was named after the bridge guards (mostari) who guarded the bridge in the Middle Ages.

The architecture of the place represents a symbol of tolerance and shared life between Muslims and Christians.

With our local guide you will have the chance to visit the old Bazaar which is full of picturesque shops and workshop.

After visiting the Mosque we’ll enjoy a walk along the famous Turkish bridge, the most recognizable sight not only in Mostar but in Bosnia as well.

The Old Bridge is protected by UNESCO and is definitely the most popular sight from Mostar. The original bridge was built by the Turks in the 16th century, but it was destroyed during the war in 1993.

The bridge was rebuilt in 2004 mostly by using the original stones.

Nowadays, the bridge is a symbol of connection between two religiously divided parts of the town, the Christian and the Muslim.

12:00-14:00 Free time in Mostar

Mostar old town

3Our advice is to take a look at the National Monument “Muslibegović House”, which was built about 300 years ago and is considered as one of the most beautiful houses from the Ottoman period in the Balkans. The house is special because it contains an inner garden, divided by men and women side.
In Mostar you can use the opportunity to taste authentic Bosnian specialties like ćevapi, burek, baklava or buy some local souvenirs.

14:30-16:30 Visiting Međugorje

4Our final destination is Međugorje, a famous pilgrimage center in this part of Europe.

It is a place that radiates a special peace and pilgrims all over the world come to find peace, prayer and inner strength.

The place became famous in 1981 when the Virgin Mary appeared to six children and conveyed them messages of peace, love and prayer.

During your stay in Međugorje, choose between a pilgrimage to the Apparition Hill (Holy Cross) or stay in the church of St. Jacob and visit the surroundings.

After this unique sightseeing of two cultures, we head back to Trogir.
